How to choose a sauna heater
The heater defines the character of the sauna. Here is how we help customers choose between wood-fired and electric.
Size it to the room
As a rule of thumb you need about 1 kW of power for every cubic metre of sauna room, and more if the room has large glass surfaces or unpainted log walls.
Wood-fired
Softer steam, a living flame and no dependence on the power grid. It needs a chimney and some attention while heating, but many people consider this part of the ritual.
Electric
Ready in 30–40 minutes, easy to control and convenient in a city garden. A good choice if you use the sauna on weekday evenings.
